Emission Reduction Project (Carbon Credit) Development

Institutions can develop emission reduction projects (carbon credit) by developing alternative non-GHG emission projects or implementing energy efficient solutions to their existing process/production operations. The purchase of the carbon credits -acquired through the above project- by an institution looking to neutralize its emission is called Carbon Trading. Carbon Trading is held in the Carbon Market.

Carbon credit can be developed by adopting appropriate methodologies such as renewable energy technologies (wind, solar/sun, water, geothermal, biomass, wave, hydrogen…), waste disposal, energy production from waste, energy efficiency applications or switching to an eco-friendlier fuel type.

The internationally approved GHG emission reduction projects; CDM (Clean Development Mechanism), VCS (Verified Carbon Standard), GS (Gold Standard) and SocialCarbon being in the first place, can be approved by competent bodies and included to the carbon market. Institutions can both show their awareness to the environment by developing carbon credit and monetize through approved projects.

SEEM’s team of experts offers consultancy services for the development emission reduction projects and carbon credit origination.
